I'm Back!

I am so sorry. I completely have been so overwhelmed with school and life that I forgot about blogging. But fear not, I am back. And ready to share my adventures.

Yay!

T-Minus 6 Days

6 DAYS 'TILL CALIFORNIA! Yay. I'm so excited that I'm going to be spending two whole weeks in Santa Cruz with my aunt and uncle. They are the best aunt and uncle ever. They are flying me out there as a high school graduation present. This may be the best present I've ever gotten. It could possibly top the year I got the softest teddy bear ever for Christmas. :)

So I leave Saturday morning and I have not started packing yet. I know, I know, I should get started but I probably won't end up packing until Thursday. Or Friday. But hopefully, Thursday. And I have to clean my room.

My To-Do List
1. Clean room.
2. Do laundry.
3. Get suitcases out.
4. Make list of what I need to pack.
5. Pick out outfits.
6. Pack

My Latest Obsessions

Most importantly, my number 1 obsession at the moment is The Wanted, made up of 5 amazingly gorgeous guys Nathan, Max, Jay, Tom, and Siva. They are the best boy band I've ever heard. They are the best band I've ever heard. They have the most amazing voices I've ever heard. They are huge celebrities in Britain yet are still down-to-earth.  If you've never heard of them, look them up. RIGHT NOW. They're debut single All Time Low, debuted #1 in the UK and it is now on the radios in America. So excited. They’re supposed to venturing over here in the next few months. Yay!!!

Their brand new single in the UK, Glad You Came, is my summer song for sure! I am most definitely using my repeat button when it comes to it. You can check them out on their website http://www.thewantedmusic.com/. And follow them on twitter. They have a group one and they each have individual ones as well.

My other obsession is ABC Family's new TV series, Switched At Birth and The Nine Lives of Chloe King. I absolutely love both shows. Switched At Birth is so great because it deals with a situation that is so real and you can definitely understand what the characters go through. I'm especially loving how awesome the character Emmett is. The Nine Lives of Chloe King is also amazing. It has a fantasy action feel to it that just draws me in. Plus, who doesn't connect with a teenager trying to find their place in the world. I mean, I still am. Then again, I don't have secret powers and am responsible for bringing to races together in peace. But I'm all for rooting for Chloe and Alec. I like Brian but Alec's accent is way too hot.

That's all for now. I'll keep you updated on my crazy, but boring life and most definitely, my trip to California that's coming up in 1 1/2 weeks (which I still have not started packing for…).

Harry Potter, Magic Unending...

So I'm currently watching Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire on ABC Family right now. I remember when the first movie came out. I was 11. So I've grown up with the books and the movies. I remember waiting in line when the 4th book came out, and the 5th, and the 6th. For the 7th, I was smart enough to preorder it and have it delivered to my house. I read it in 8 hours (that included taking bathroom and snack breaks).

Knowing yesterday it premiered around the world is crazy. It comes out for all us regular folks next week. I will not be watching it on its premiere date though. I'm leaving for California on the 23 of July and am going to see it out there with my uncle. This is the last Harry Potter movie. For now. I still hope that one day J.K. Rowling will write another series, perhaps about their children. In a way, it is an end to a crazy journey. But it is also a beginning. It is a beginning of a legacy that will last for years to come.

Harry Potter will always be remembered as The Boy Who Lived. I will always remember the series as an escape to the magical world. It is one I experienced in full. Sometimes I really felt like I was a Hogwarts student and to this day, I still wish I was.

Harry Potter will live on through the passion filled hearts of young and old, through the 8 dynamic movies, through the ink on pages of a well-worn book, through games and music. The series will live on through fanfiction and roleplaying games, through it's very own amusement park (The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida) and now, from J.K. Rowling herself, a interactive website called Pottermore, that will be revealed later in the fall.

In the end, I am not saying goodbye to Harry Potter. I am saying see you later because I know whenever I miss you, you are only a click, or a hand reach, or an airplane away.

Dancing Queens (and Kings)

One of the shows that I keep coming back to is So You Think You Can Dance. There is something about how amazing the dancers are every season. Those dancers work so hard, I mean, they only have about 8 hours to learn the routine for every week. But it still remains one of my favorite shows on television.

Jordan and Tadd - Beautiful dancing. They are wonderful dancers. The lifts were incredible and it was kind of enchanting which it was supposed to be because the waltz is supposed to be dreamy and romantic. I didn't really see the story but the dancing was breathtaking.

Clarice and Jess - Very strong dancing, very intricate and definitely beautiful. I was entranced by this performance. My eyes didn't leave the TV screen. Contemporary dancing is just beautiful and I usually love any contemporary routines and this was definitely one I did liked.

Caitlynn and Mitchell - One of my favorite couples. Well, I just love Caitlynn. A lot. I think that she could win it. And it’s not just 'cause we have the same name. And the fact that Mandy Moore choreographed their routine is always a plus. And they killed it!!!! I was just smiling the entire time! It was so romantic and beautiful and flawless. It was fearless. The leaps and the lifts were breathtaking and the lines were amazing. As Nigel said, "The whole routine took my breath away." Best performance of the night, and all  of the judges agreed.

Day 1 - Veggie Style

So, after lots of consideration and thinking, I have decided to become a vegetarian. There were a lot of factors that went into this. I know a couple of people that are vegetarians and they have told me that there are so many benefits that come with this lifestyle. It's a lot healthier and according to them you feel so much better and have more energy after cutting meat out of your diet. I'm really excited to try this out. It's definitely going to be a test to my character.

Last night I had my last meal as a meat-eater (I ate my mom's shephard pie - delish). Breakfast was easy this morning, I'm a cereal or bagel and fruit kind of girl. Dinner though was defnitely a challenge. I made spaghetti for dinner for my mom and I. I used whole grain pasta and a three cheese sauce with a nice salad. The hardest part was watching my mom put hamburger on her spaghetti. I had some tofurkey sausage that was actually really good (crispy and spicy) but I was proud that I was able to say no.

Some of my family members don't think this is going to last but I definitely want to try this out for my own benefit. If anyone has ideas or tips for a beginning vegetarian, let me know.

My Story

Hi! My name is Katelynn. I've been on this world for 18 years. I just graduated from high school on June 5. I am now an adult but most of the time I wish I wasn't. My have two brothers and a sister, a beautiful baby niece and a cute as heck little godsister. To start off my blog I've decided to share some random facts about me, so here goes...

I like quilts. And hoodies. But that's probably due to the fact that I'm always cold, like freezing cold. Like, I wear hoodies outside in the middle of August when it's 80 degrees.
I'm a Pisces. This means that I'm an over-emotional wreck (mostly when it comes to movies and TV, my personal faves being The Last Song and Grey's Anatomy). It also means I get to celebrate my birthday in the best month ever: March and the best week: St. Patrick's Day week. My birthday is March 18.
I love bright colors and sparkly things and ribbon but I wear a lot of dark clothing. I'm really trying to change that and come out of my shell. I want to be confident enough to wear what I like and become my own person.
I over-think and over-plan and over-organize and then I usually toss the plan and end up doing stuff at the last minute. Procrastination is my best friend, unfortunately.
Taylor Swift is my idol. And Reese Witherspoon. They are both confident and have successful careers and have made it in the entertainment industry without changing who they are and without sacrificing their beliefs. They amaze me every day. Plus, they're both blonde (as am I)!
I've never been in love and I'm okay with that. I know that one day love will come floating by and I won't even know it until it hits me. It's part of life's little adventures, one that I'm really excited to partake in.
I love coffee and antique silverware. I think tea is the most awesomest drink ever but I have to be in the mood to drink it. I think towels should be nice and fluffy. I love taking photos whether it be the smile of a child's face or an apple on the ground. I love finding art in the simplest things. I love acting.

Most days I feel like my life is a mess. I'm just a teenager starting her life. I'm searching the world and my mind to figure out who I really am. I'm waiting to experience what life has for me. I'll be glad to have anyone follow me on my adventures through life chasing my dreams.

One day I plan on going to England. I am going to try being a vegetarian for at least six weeks. I'm going to go on a missions trip. My goals, my dreams are everything to me and I can't wait to start chasing! :)
